Gambit

Gambit, whose real name is Remy Etienne LeBeau, is a cartoon character created by Chris Claremont (text) and Jim Lee (drawings), published by Marvel Comics. Appearing for the first time in the pages of Uncanny X-Men No 226 (August 1990), Gambit is a mutant with the ability to upload their own bodies and objects, often playing cards, bio-kinetic energy produced by his own body.

A charming rogue, and unrepentant con man skilled seducer, it seemed to redeem himself soon joined the ranks of pupils known to Xavier and the beautiful Rogue, in which waged a long and volatile relationship, second only to that between Cyclops and Phoenix. Learned of his ties with the Left and the part he played in the massacre of the Morlocks, many of the X-Men turned away from him and then reunited as soon as they learned of his real attempt at redemption.

Gambit in action

As Cajun, Gambit has always shown pride in his heritage and, along with Wolverine, was one of the biggest smokers in the history of Marvel comics, though during the campaign undertaken by anti-smoking 'Editor in Chief Joe Quesada, this peculiarity seems to have vanished into thin air.

Gambit is a mutant able to load your body with energy and bio-kinetic objects produced by his own body. This capability is used both internally, overloading the cells and tissues granting him superhuman speed and agility, and externally, by loading various objects that then take inanimanti explosive energy in proportion to their size. One of its features is to use a deck of cards as a weapon, which turns into deadly missiles. His other skills are similar to using a special auction, which combines his skills as a fighter to hand-to-body. On several occasions he has shown the ability to attract people through its special charisma, seem well able to disrupt attempts to invade telepathic and psychic attacks because of the large amount of energy inside its body.

His knack of attracting the people seem not to be the result of alteration suffered at the hands of the Left, but a natural evolution of an empathic power. In addition, loading the body increases its strength, so as to be able to break through a wall with his fist. As Death, Horseman of the Apocalypse, as we have seen turning the gases produced by human body toxins able to stifle and kill.

As a legacy of the southern culture of the United States, Gambit often uses terms or periods belonging to the Cajun French, a variety of French spoken mainly in the state of Louisiana.
